Homeopathy explained

The word homeopathy comes from the ancient Greek words “homoios” (= similar), and “pathein” (= to suffer). The term literally means: “similar suffering” and forms the foundation of the most important principle of classical homeopathy; the so called similarity principle.

Many substances can cause illness or certain symptoms of illness. Homeopathic medicines are made from animal, vegetable and mineral substances normally causing disease. This is done by a diluting and shaking process until all that remains is the energy of the material we started with. This ‘energy’ is transformed into homeopathic medicines. The strongly diluted substance of a material that would cause illness in its original form, when used correctly, now cures that very same illness. There is the key: that very same illness. When a (poisonous) substance is given to a healthy person, he or she starts showing symptoms. When a sick person shows these same symptoms, a tiny amount of the same substance will trigger the soul back in to balance and the patient is cured. This is what we call the similarity principle and will be further explained on the website.

Homeopathic Medicine

Classical homeopathy is a holistic method of medicine. The homeopathic therapist looks at the individual as a whole; a union of body and spirit in continuous interaction with its surroundings. Anything happening in a person’s live could trigger a disturbance within the soul. When the soul has been disturbed, it loses its natural balance with the body, causing you to get ill. The homeopathic therapist aims to restore the balance and will take the time to go over every little thing that might be troubling the patient, both physical and psychological. What happened to Mr. X that caused her to start having migraines? Mrs. Y is also suffering from migraines; the symptoms are the same as those of Mr. Y but most likely they will each need a different medicine to be cured. Every person is unique, with their own unique story and therefore in need of their own personal remedy.
